Nanoparticles

Nanoparticles are individual, solid particulates with nanoscale dimensions. They can be inorganic, organic or a mixture of both as hybrid. Because of their small sizes, the total surface area of a given amount of nanoparticles will be far greater than bulk structures with bigger grain sizes. This provides great contact surface, an essential feature for adsorptive chemistry, such as separations and catalysis.
